So little

February 22, 2009 · 17 comments

The cold has returned,
So little to say.
You know colds.

The girls have gone.
Home in a week.
So little to say.
You know breakups.
You know empty houses.

Today I will say little
here
and write more
there,
old style
in a journal.

I will write down
everything I know
to be true.
So little?
I will find out.
You know true.

Hope your cold passes soon.

I’ll get a Scrabble game ready, when you want to take a break from Journaling.

You know true, too.

This is lovely.

My oldest daughter has gone to stay with her father this week too. The house is empty and silent without her. But I’m lucky; I’ve got a new baby to keep me busy with her smiles and her bright eyes.

Take it easy… be gentle with yourself and get over the cold.

I know so little, but I believe that sometimes the pen is the best protection from the quiet. Wrap yourself in warm thoughts and pick out the lovely, happy truths where / if you can. Hugs to you.

Jenn is true.

Jenn is light.

Jenn is love, and shares it with the world. We are lucky to be part of that world.

Make yourself some chocolate chip cookies. They are such a reward for junk like cleaning the sink.

Jenn, truth is your strength. I admire the bravery that I seem to always find in your words.

Hope you’re curled up with a steaming mug, a big box of Puffs Plus nearby, loving doggy noses on your knee, your red stove alight, some nice music in the background–enjoy your peace and quiet while you can and use the cold as an excuse for anything you think you can get away with. Hugs.

That’s beautiful.

So why do I feel like I might cry?

My youngest son has the middle name Trew.

His latest Trew(th)?

“Mom? When your heart aches…is it really, actually breaking?”

To which I replied, it sure feels that way sometimes doesn’t it?

THEN he sighs and says..”.Well, I guess I need some duct tape to hold the broken bits and pieces.”

Your courage is true Jenn. Keeping writing where ever it works for YOU.

Kind thoughts to you dear Jenn.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from the cold, and for the days to pass quietly until your girls come home. Spring is coming!

From a long-time lurker who has always wanted to add a comment but never know exactly what to say, you’ve inspired me today as I sit here in my own empty house.

Warm wishes to you, Jenn.
