Rooting for Daniel, Leanne and Lydia

July 28, 2008 · 11 comments

This is a terrific family I’ve been following online for some time. The blog’s name? Followed Lingling as She Gave Lymphoma a Beatdown. If you haven’t come across them on your own Internet travels, stop by. And when you read what they’ve tackled together, I bet you’re going to want to lend a hand.

Please support them with a donation! Help give lymphoma a beatdown, you guys! Daniel’s wife, Leanne, is in remission now, but Daniel’s still raising money and biking for others going through what they have. Donate a little something, and you get all the warm fuzzies of feelin’ good about yourself, without the sweaty tush or torn hamstrings or sore glutes or stinky Lycra that come with a 100-mile ride through the desert. We’ll leave all that to Daniel.

Jenn, although you were the first to introduce me to blogs, I now have about 5 that I read. The last one I discovered was: http://www.fatcyclist.com/ which is a man/husband/father that writes about his biking, and his wife’s battle with terminal cancer.

I am not a biker, but am always inspired by his strength of spirit, and amusing writing style.

I tried to access the “Lingling” blog to read their story, but haven’t had luck yet finding it. My dad passed away from NonHodgkins Lymphoma 6 years ago last week. I miss him so very much. I wish he had been able to meet/see/get to know my two sons.

Thank you for this new world of reading…and learning.

Jenn, I went over to Dan’s blog and read the whole thing from beginning to end in one sitting. What strength they have! I am very humbled. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I think that Daniel is the most astounding writer. I love his blog. I”ve spent hours sobbing along with him during Leanne’s illness.

Thank you for pointing me to that blog, it’s really inspiring, and it hurts to know that there are people who need so much love.

Jenn, whenever you have a new play, please let us know!!! I traveled to see Catherine read and got to see you read, too. Only, I was a complete moron and didn’t know who you were yet. Now, I know and I love! I would gladly travel to see one of your plays!

By the way, my code is UHAV, as in you have talent!!

Thank you for the link to Daniel and Leanne’s blog. I too spent much of the day reading through the entire blog. Thank goodness I knew about the happy ending or I don’t think I could’ve handled those very dark days.

The best way to ease your own pain is to help someone else with their pain – which is what you are doing by sharing that link.
