This just in, from my actor friend Jen Alison Lewis, who is producing my play (based on a long-ago blog post) in the Boston area. Can you go see it, Breed ‘Em and Weepers? It’s fun and free and has a fab cast:
“Hi friends,
Yes, you read it right, my daughter is not Cinderella this time, I am! I had to produce a show to make that happen. Please come see me in a very funny send-up of all your favorite fairy tales. Especially fun for those of us who have watched any Disney Princess movie more than twice, but it’s naughty fun (with fabulous costumes!) for the whole crowd.
Alert- there are TWO SHOWS ONLY, starting this Thursday!
Thursdays, July 16 and 23 at 6:30PM
FREE! Yes, it is an early show on a weeknight, and no, it is not aimed at kids (rated PG for mature themes). But it’s free! Our show is about 15-minutes, but audience is expected to stay for the (also free) 90-minute show after it as well. Tell your friends!

I so wish I could be there – the script sounds fabulous and I know how well you write plays. I still think you need to write a children’s play – high demand for a good, quirky, not sugary-sweet children’s plays! High demand = $.
I loved that blog post! I’m so glad it was inspiration for you to do what you love writing plays. How awesome. I love it!
The horrible, unruly, and collaborative inconveniences of geography, finances, and pre-existing obligations are currently colluding to prevent me from attending. Bloody hell.
But I remember that post well, and if you don’t mind my saying so, it was da SHIT!
I wish I lived in that area! I remember that blog post and loved it. Congratulations!
Damn. A real live playwright.
Oh, you must link the old post at least, for those of us who live in foreign countries and can’t come see this one!
wish. I. was. there. xx
It sounds terrific – and I love Boston – unfortunately it is quite a hike from NC. Hope it is wonderful for you!
OH, why didn’t I have my google reader open! I missed the 16th and will be in Chicago on the 23rd! This is one of my favorite posts of yours and I’m THRILLED that it’s been made into a play.
I hope the first show was a huge success and hope there are more that I may be able to see!
You do realize that the black princess did get her movie deal . . . The Princess and the Frog is coming out in the fall. And she’s from New Orleans, not Africa. Looks like she might spend a lot of the movie as a frog though.
Hearing the “R-word” in your play last Thursday made me cringe, even referring to a horse. Language = Attitude.
