Hattie B gets her hair cut: bangs!

Big excitement. We get home.

She wanders around, looking for a mirror.

Success! I hear her:

There’s my little face. I like that little face.

I desperately wanted bangs at her age, but I had a crazy cow lick that would not comply.
Bangs are definitely something to be excited about!

They really are amazing, these daughters of ours, aren’t they?

The best face book I’ve read all day…

my mom always says that the most important this is to like your own face. “how sad it would be to not like your own face” she says.

She is developing a sense of herself for sure. She will be a player in the game of life. Her bangs are bouncy and cute, just like Hannah.

My code is “he he” … have a good day!

May she continue to like her little face her whole life long!

Happy Day!

When Miles was 3 or just turned 4 (I can’t remember, isn’t that sad?) his hair got long and shaggy. One day, while brushing the hair out of his eyes, he told my MIL, in his most pitiful voice mind you, “GrandMary, with this hair, I feel like a different boy.” Needless to say she whipped out the hair trimming shears and went to town. I love how they talk about themselves at that age. So sweet and full of affection for themselves. If only we could be that way still.

When I was her age, I desperately wanted bangs. When I got them, I hated how much of a hassle they were so I spent an entire six month span with little pink clips right on my hairline and my bangs flying into the wind. It must have been a sight! Lol.

I’m really happy that your daughter likes her new bangs =) What a precious little girl you have.

How sweet. I love how a little change can make them feel so good about themselves! Good job, Mom!

What a great comment. May she continue to love what she sees in the mirror.

My little one said to me the other day, she didn’t want to eat the rest of her bagel because some kid in her nursery school class said her belly was fat. She’s 3. Does it start this early?

Wishing for her that she will always love her little face.

Sweet girl.

Oh, what a sweet pie, with her sweet little face. Words like that should be bottled.

A good haircut can be magical.

My 5 year old asked for a hair cut – like daddy. We settled on a bob. She went from waist length ‘mermaid’ hair that she loved to the cutest freaking bob with side bangs I have ever seen.

Side bangs are the coolest apparently. 10 year old had to get side bangs at the same time. They both spent a good hour in front of the mirror exclaiming how cute they were and fixing their hair in a million different ways. No fighting. No yelling. It was magical really.

To quote Ricky Martin:

She (has) bangs!
She (has) bangs!

Or William Hung, if you prefer.
